For more than 20 years, Sigur Rós’ online communities have helped bring fans together from around the world. Whether it be through message boards, mailing lists, or chat rooms, our fans have always found a way to meaningfully connect around shared passion for new music, experiences, and ideas. Our new Heimr community is a digital space designed to strengthen our connection to you, and we are very excited about what the future may hold here.

Providing free membership to you in the form of digital collectibles allows us to better serve our fans, and to engage with our community on a 1:1 level. We are now able to bring the fan conversation back into our own ecosystem, and to reward our fans with special access, unique perks and exclusive content in newly possible ways.

How do I join the community?

  1. Create an account by clicking the "Join" button on
  2. Claim your free Glingur membership collectible when prompted in the sign-up flow.

What is a digital wallet?

A digital wallet allows you to claim and trade items on the blockchain. This is different from an Apple wallet or Google Pay. Popular digital wallets include MetaMask and Rainbow Wallet. If you don’t have a digital wallet and don’t want to make one, we will help you create a wallet during your Heimr sign-up requiring just an email confirmation. We are using Web3Auth, formerly known as Torus, to facilitate this process. This wallet allows you to claim your Glingur even if you do not have your own digital wallet. If you create your own digital wallet in the future, you will easily be able to transfer your Glingur to it at a later date.

Can I trade my Glingur?

Your Glingur is your membership pass to the Heimr community. As ERC721 tokens, Glingur are tradable on the blockchain. However, if you trade yours away, the new holder will not have access to the same benefits associated with newly claimed Glingur.

Is this an NFT?

Yes. While NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have become best known for being sold as digital images, they are ultimately a technological tool with many uses. We are using the technology to distribute community membership access to our fans, but Glingur are not intended for resale.

Our Heimr membership Glingur are created on Polygon, a blockchain protocol that functions differently than the mainnet Ethereum blockchain. Claiming a Glingur uses less energy than streaming a movie.
